Asphalt Shingles (Standard)Not all asphalt shingles are created alike.We use architectural grade IKO shingles, where each shingle has multiple layers that help add to the roof durability and add visual interest with resulting shadow lines. Special color treatments on the shingles add to the effect. The shingles we use are the same as used on many single family and multi-family homes. They are made with three layers: a fiberglass-reinforced organic felt materia, saturated with asphalt, then a thick ashpalt layer, then stone granules.

Cedar Shake Shingles have a high natural resistance to virtually all forms of decay. Expect the Cedar Shake Shingle to turn a natural silvery gray over time. Cedar also resists insect damage and is known as one of nature's most durable wood species.
